Where to Swim in Amasra
Amasra is not just a town of history and fish restaurants. With its two bays and coastal rocks, it also has swimming options for every taste.
Large Harbour Beach (Büyük Liman Plajı)
The main beach of Amasra — the most organised, most central, closest to shops and restaurants. Sandy shore, calm sea in summer. The most popular spot for families.
Small Harbour Beach (Küçük Liman Plajı)
Smaller and quieter than the Large Harbour, the Small Harbour Beach suits those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere. In the late afternoon this is where sunsets are watched most beautifully.
The Pier (Mendirek)
The concrete pier extending towards the sea is a popular swimming spot for locals. Jumping from the end of the pier into the deep, cool Black Sea water is a summer ritual. Not recommended for those who are not confident swimmers.
Direkli Kaya
The rocks extending towards the sea near the historical Genoese tower offer a wilder swimming experience. The water is clear, the scenery is magnificent — you swim with the castle wall behind you.
