Çakraz Beach

Çakraz, Bartın

Open daily, all day

Amasra’s Quiet Alternative

When the Large Harbour Beach overflows in the middle of summer, experienced Amasra visitors head to Çakraz. Just 10 km from Amasra, this small bay village is home to a 1 km beach that rarely gets busy.

Why Çakraz?

Clean water: The geographical position of Çakraz bay, its distance from major settlements and its limited number of visitors keep the sea water clean. It is one of the purest swimming experiences the Black Sea allows.

Length and surprising space: There is room to spread out along every part of the 1 km beach. While sunlounger spots are fought over at the Large Harbour, at Çakraz you can lay out your towel wherever you like at 10 in the morning.

Nature hike combination: The bay is surrounded by hillside trails. A short climb rewards you with a bird’s-eye view of the cove.

What’s on the Beach?

Çakraz beach is less developed than the Large Harbour, but more natural:

  • Small-scale sunlounger and parasol hire (limited availability)
  • Fish restaurants and cafés along the bay
  • Dalyan Balık Restaurant within the Özmenler Hotel complex

Combining with Amasra

Çakraz can be visited on its own or combined with Amasra in a single day. Exploring Amasra in the morning and swimming at Çakraz in the afternoon has become the most popular day route in the area.

  • By car from Amasra: 10–12 minutes
  • From Bartın town centre: 30 minutes
