The coast road heading east out of Amasra lines up beaches one after another: first Bozköy, then Çakraz.

Bozköy Beach is the quiet one of that sequence. It has kept its natural state — a plain beach with limited construction and few visitors. For anyone escaping the summer density of Amasra’s two harbours, it is less than half an hour away.

What kind of beach

Like most beaches on this stretch of the Black Sea, the green begins immediately behind the sand. The sea is open; this is not a sheltered bay.

Facilities, sunloungers and places to eat are limited. People who come here generally bring what they need. That is not a shortcoming but the character of the place — those who choose Bozköy come for exactly this.

Things to keep in mind

This is the open Black Sea coast and lifeguard cover is not regular.

Rip currents can form even on days when the sea looks calm. Do not swim alone, do not go far from shore, and never let children out of sight. Assess the weather and the state of the sea before entering the water.

How to get there

Follow the coast road east from Amasra towards Çakraz and Kurucaşile. Bozköy lies on the way, before you reach Çakraz.

The road is winding and scenic; this coastal stretch is a route worth driving in its own right. Your own vehicle is the practical choice.

Combined with Çakraz

Bozköy and Çakraz sit side by side and both can be seen in a single day. Çakraz is better known and a little livelier; Bozköy is quieter.

Continuing east along the coast road takes you as far as Gideros Cove.
