Large Harbour Beach (Büyük Liman)

Amasra Center, Amasra

Open daily, all day

Amasra’s Best-Known Shore

Large Harbour Beach (Büyük Liman Plajı) sits in the southern bay of the Amasra peninsula. At roughly 300 metres, it is the longest beach in town and within walking distance of the centre. During the summer holiday season, it is the first stop for visitors from across Turkey.

When to Go

Early July (1–15 July): The sea is warm enough and the crowds have not yet peaked. Ideal for both swimming and finding a comfortable spot.

Late August (20–31 August): As the holiday rush eases the beach quietens, yet the sea reaches its warmest point of the season. Black Sea water temperatures of 22–24 °C are achievable at this time.

Mid-summer (15 July – 15 August): The busiest period. At weekends the beach regularly exceeds its comfortable capacity. If you visit during this window, aim to arrive early (08:00–10:00).

What’s on the Beach?

  • Sunlounger and parasol hire — charged; hired out by operators along the shore
  • Showers and changing cabins
  • Snack bars and cafés — several options along the waterfront
  • Amasra Sailing Club — at the western end of the beach; sailing and watersports activities

Evening Stroll

A coastal walk from Large Harbour Beach along the shore to Diamond Liman Hotel is particularly pleasant in the evenings. Harbour lights, gentle waves and the silhouette of the Amasra peninsula make this stroll memorable.
