Small Harbour Beach (Küçük Liman)

Amasra Center, Amasra

Open daily, all day

Amasra’s Most Central Beach

Small Harbour Beach is the swimming spot closest to Amasra’s restaurants, cafés and historic sites. Because of the sheltered westward-facing bay of the peninsula, it is a relatively calm beach, protected from waves and currents.

It does not have as wide a sandy stretch as the Large Harbour, but its location is unmatched: after an evening swim you can walk a few steps to the restaurants along the Small Harbour promenade.

Beach Facilities

  • Sunlounger and parasol hire — charged; along the beach
  • Shower facilities
  • Snack bar — open during the summer season
  • Restaurants nearby — Canlı Balık Restaurant, Çınar Restaurant within walking distance

Direkli Kaya: Alternative Entry

At the northern end of the Small Harbour, at the tip of the peninsula, is Direkli Kaya. This spot, where entry to the water over the rocks is possible, is particularly popular for snorkelling and rocky diving. The ground is not sand here, so take care on bare feet.

Early Morning Hours

In the summer season, afternoons are the busy time. Between 09:00 and 11:00 in the morning the beach is almost empty: seagulls on their morning hunt, fishing boats returning to harbour, the silhouette of the Amasra peninsula and its castle in the background. Entering the Black Sea for the first time in this quiet moment is to see Amasra away from the crowds.

Distances

  • Canlı Balık Restaurant: 2 minutes on foot
