A Cool Stop Deep in the Forest
Göldere Waterfall is a small but striking natural feature hidden in the Black Sea forests near Amasra. It is not a large or spectacular waterfall; its real magic comes from the lush surroundings, the light dancing on the water and the silence of the forest.
The forests around the waterfall, fed by the humidity and heavy rainfall of the Black Sea climate, stay vivid in every season. On a hot summer’s day, the temperature drops 5–8 degrees as you approach — and that coolness alone is its own reward.
When to Visit
Spring (April–May): Water flow is at its highest, fed by winter rains; the falls are at their most powerful. The forest glows with new growth.
Summer (June–August): Flow decreases, but the cool forest shade is especially welcome in this period.
Autumn (October–November): The falling leaves transform the surrounding scenery.
Combining with a Nature Walk
Göldere Waterfall can be the destination of a short outing on its own, or a waypoint on a longer nature hike. The forested hills behind the Amasra–Çakraz corridor contain trails that link numerous small natural points of interest.
Free entry; please take your litter away with you and exercise caution regarding fire in the woodland.
